Charitable Foundation

Macrossan & Amiet are proud to have established the Charitable Foundation and to continue to support it by meeting all administrative expenses which means there is zero wastage of donations. We also thank SH Tait & Co who perform the annual audit at no cost. The Charitable Foundation has provided great support to the people of Mackay and Whitsunday and surrounding districts and we encourage our clients to support it.

Macrossan & Amiet Charitable Foundation was established as a Charitable Trust in 1995 by the Partners of Macrossan & Amiet Solicitors.  The Foundation is registered as a charity and a deductible gift recipient.  The Foundation is administered by Independent Trustees.

The Foundation makes annual distributions to support charities and deductible gift recipients operating in the Mackay, Whitsunday and Issac Local Authority areas.  The Foundation operates as a Public Ancillary Fund and eligible entities are encouraged to make an application for a grant.

From an initial fund of $100,000.00 donated by Macrossan & Amiet Solicitors the Foundation has grown to hold capital of in excess of $1.7M.  To date the foundation has distributed in excess of $1M to local charities.

The Trustees are most grateful to the number of donors who have made generous donations to the Foundation through the years and encourage everyone to consider making a donation to the Foundation for its worthy cause. No administration costs are met from the capital of the Foundation and are met by the legal firm Macrossan & Amiet.

Any charities wishing to make a submission for the next financial year may telephone the Secretary, Mr Stuart Naylor on (07) 4944 2000 for further information.

All charities who apply for a distribution from the Foundation must be endorsed as an income tax exempt charity and as a deductible gift recipient to be eligible for a grant of funds pursuant to the Trust Deed of the Macrossan & Amiet Foundation.

All eligible submissions will be considered by the Trustees at their next annual meeting to be held in July/August.

Foundation Info

On the 1st July, 1995, our firm celebrated its centenary.  As a mark of its thanks to the people of Mackay and sign of respect for Fred MacNish, Vince Macrossan, Bill Amiet and Stan Amiet, and to perpetuate their memory, the ‘Macrossan & Amiet Foundation’ was announced.

In the time since its establishment our firm has donated over $AUD140,000 to this Foundation.
